Peacock is one of most beautiful birds that I ever seen and love it so much in this world.
It is considered to be a bird of protection and safe guarding. This bird is also valued as a protection for the psychic self. The peacock brings harmony and joy to our mind. This bird is majestic, proud with much expression and as the male bird walks and dances to the female in courting.
In Hinduism… ‘when the god Indra transforms himself into an animal, he becomes a peacock. The myth is that the peacock “has angels’ feathers, a devil’s voice, and the walk of a thief.”
In India the peacock was believed to have a thousand eyes in its feathers…
In Java, the peacock was associated with the Devil.
In China: Its feather is an attribute of the goddess Kwan-yin
In Japan: Its feather is an attribute of the goddess Kwannon.
Myth has the peacock representing fidelity, as it dies of grief, or remains single, if it loses its mate. Legend says it hates gold and will not go near it.
Peacock also is said to be able to foretell rain, and dances when rain is coming. … and if a peacock cries more than usual, it is said to foretell the death of someone in the family to which it belongs.
Having heard so much about this graceful bird and its feathers, I immediately bought 3 stalks of the feathers few days back, when approached by an Indian peddler who was going around and selling these feathers to the public at Melaka Raya. Here are they:
Each stalk cost me MYR6 and i paid MYR18 for 3 at no discount!! Pretty expensive as i thought….
I asked the seller what is so good about having this feather,he answered confidently: “Boss, this (the feathers) will help you to strike lottery!!!”
Well, I bought it out of my love for its beauty, elegance and rarity. Now, I have the peacock feathers placed at my residence. Of course, I do hope to strike Magnum 4D jackpot one day,if not sooner.
But some say it is not good to keep it at home as it’s also seen as harboring kinda evil thing! Pls share with me if you know about this aspect…..
