Some Ghastly Ways to Fire the staffs!!!

I read this from Mannerisms today about how some great companies carried out the layoff in their innovative ways. Some really made me laughed and inspired!

In 1975, Fairchild announced the names of the shortlisted staffs over the public address (PA)system, with a message to pick up their final check and head for the nearest exit. From that on, the staffs were cringing in fear of hearing their names broadcasted over the PA system.

Another famous company,Schlumberger is worth mentioning here. One morning as workers arrived, they were barred from entering by security guards who instructed them to remain in the area. After everyone had arrived, an HR rep came out with a portable “bullhorn” and announced that everyone was to go to their desks. Anyone who had a box on their desk was to place all their personal items in the box and go to HR for an exit interview. Those without a box were supposed to get to work.Needles to say, not much useful work got done that day.

Aeroflex, another world renowned corp was very good at this layoff thing. The system was quite fun, quipped the commentator.

Every one was told to be at their desk at say 10:00 and an email would come round then. If you got the email you were out.

Then at 10:10 a second email came out to the rest, saying get back on with work.

Layoff msg conveyed via email

Selfishness will happen when layoff starts......

Don’t you agree that these 3 methods are Ghastly but funny at the same time!! Nabei betul…..

This serves as a good reference to the HR department to learn how to be innovative in carrying out layoff….

And pls learn how to cope with layoff should you be one of the unlucky lots.

The world is changing,at least in the fashion scene now….

After year upon year of seeing super thin young women stalking the catwalks, a new breed was in the spotlight recently.
First was Hayley Morley, a size 12, took to the catwalk for knitwear designer Mark Fast.
Then another supermodel Lizzie Miller, a size 14, caused a furore when pictured naked with a roll of [...]

When the engineers cannot solve the Problem…

This post is dedicated to the engineers in the world:

And I think the machines work after that, though not 100% sure!
Lesson learnt: Seek for divine intercession when you are in a dead end and have faith!

Jesus appeared to him yesterday!!!

It’s real, my Lord Jesus Christ paid a visit to this young chap, though not at his door step but on a frying pan,as reported by the Telegraph.
Toby Elles, 22, made the discovery after burning the food when he fell asleep while cooking.

After lifting off the scorched bacon Mr Elles, from Salford, Lancs, could not believe [...]

A Thai cuisine not to be missed….

One Saturday, we went to the new Jusco for our brunch. Earlier I blogged about the Stone Grill restaurant and now I’d like to recommend another restaurant just opposite the Stone Grill outlet.
This is a Thai restaurant named “Lerk Thai”,not necktie!

Tom Yam Seafood Soup
This is a must try if you are there. The version at [...]

Why I bought Peacock’s feather???

Peacock is one of most beautiful birds that I ever seen and love it so much in this world.

It is considered to be a bird of protection and safe guarding. This bird is also valued as a protection for the psychic self. The peacock brings harmony and joy to our mind. This bird is majestic, [...]

What is Right,What is Wrong???

I beg most of you are aware of the famous golfer Tiger Woods’ recent extra marital affairs. Sure enough, you will condemn him for his disloyalty in this case.
But one GURU is thinking otherwise. Instead of joining the world in condemning Tiger for his unfaithful acts, he gave one surprising, if not shocking advice to [...]

The Last Day in Hong Kong!!

The last day in Hong Kong was equally eye-opening for us.  In the morning, we finally had a chance to try HOng Kong’s Dim Sum. We also found out that most of the chinese restaurants do serve dim sum in the morning.
So, we went to one which was nearby to our hotel.

The dim sum was [...]
