Kenwood eXcelon DNX8120 In Dash 6.95" DVD Navigation System
Thanks to the manufacturers from China and Taiwan, they are always the fastest and most innovative electronic gadgets copiers who always improve our quality of lives and make our dreams come true.
Yesterday, I came to know from a friend of mine, Edmond K. that he is having a versatile multimedia system in his Sonata which can do all what i mentioned above, as well as making & receiving phone calls wirelessly using Bluetooth technology. Woww! I then tried out his system and to my delight, this is what I have been looking for.
Immediately today, I went to the leading car audio system expert in Melaka- Charming to have the system installed as well in my Black Stallion.

The Expert in Car Audio & Multimedia system- Charming
And this was the system that I installed. The brand name is Passion (though i find the name very Cina pek) but as long as it functions properly, why give a fuss on the name! But, I must say these chinese manufacturers like to use names like TOM, PASSION, etc….I wonder why don’t they use names like DICK & HARRY as well to complement TOM…..

The Multimedia system that I installed in my car
The functions offered by this system are impressive. Besides playing musics, it plays video in Divx format, standard DVD,VCD. Photo viewing is also possible via SD card or USB cabling. It can also broadcast TV channels but then this require additional module installed but mind you, Melaka is a ULU place that for unknown reasons, TV reception is very poor even though you installed the module, this fact really fits the city as a historical state in Malaysia. Then, this system also has GPS (also require additional module) and BLUETOOTH connection. Playing IPOD is also possible. What a wonderful combination of all coveted functions that I am looking for.
After agreeing to the price, the installation began @ 1520.

The Original unit---Say Bye to It.

First Stage of dismantling

2nd Stage: the dismantling process wasn't easy as I thought of!

Finally after 75 mins, the head unit was successfully extricated!

The Dismantling process is finally completed.
The dismantling process itself took more than 75 minutes. For this kinda service, a labor fee is really deserved!.

Setting up the new wiring.

Hooray! it is installed now.

The Elegant panel with blue lights touch buttons.

Ok, the moment i dont like everytime---payment transaction!

The whole thing was about RM8xx
And the Thank You gesture given to me after the payment is done!

Thank You, Sir!
The technician who installed the unit for me . Surprisingly, he is mute and deaf yet he was the one tuning the sound system and taught me how to operate it! Never look down at this special people…be warned!

Ann who is mute and deaf!

The Touch Screen panel with 10 functions displayed

playing DVD

Sliding panel...exactly like the SOny's system
And what should i do with the original unit? Poor thing, look at it:

THe Original unit is Dead and Quiet!
After 2nd thought, I decided to recycle its use…..turning it into a Hi-FI audio system.

DIY Hi-Fi set!
I just need to get another adapter to make it work:

The adapter
But then it looked dull on its own, so i try to instill some decorative senses into the DIY set:

Now, it looks nicer,isnt it?
So, never discard the dismantled set without thinking of its further possible uses!
