At last….

Yesterday, I visited the famous expressionist Titi again (refer to my June 6th posting) and finally bought 2 exclusive pieces from him. Here are they:

dsc071951

1st piece that I promised to buy

Why I chose this piece?

At one glance, the picture represents Prosperity, Hope, Gaiety & Elegance with the use of the 3 most popular breed of Koi -the Gosanke, with the first one being a Tancho followed by Sanke & Kohaku. The bright crimson background gives me a sense of prosperity & warmness. The symmetrical toned lines of 4 colours which represent the water, have further fuelled my hope that bountiful richness is just a matter of time for me. Lastly, the big space on the upper side has indicated the great horizon that I am facing each day, which is filled with challenges as well as opportunities,a situation which the Chinese always describe with this 2 characters:

"Wei Ji"= In every danger, there is an opportunity!

“Wei Ji”= In every danger, there is an opportunity!

The 2nd piece that I bought is this:
The new way of expressing Prosperity!

The new way of expressing Prosperity!

This 2nd piece depicts  the word “Fu” (Prosperity) in an abstract & innovative way which is very much different from the stereotyped display of the word in an upside down manner.

Well, now I am confessing to you how meaningful and auspicious these 2 pieces of art to me but then if my luck & fortune still stays the same (no improvement) down the road then I’d have different opinions by then.

For Picture I: The use of only 3 koi instead of usual 9 is absurd while the Crimson background brings bloodshed (bad omen) and the tides like layers indicate incessant problems and challenges. Last but no least, the wide space above the fish signals wilderness & barren land.

For Picture II: Needless to say, the improper way of illustrating the word “Fu” in not upside down direction, coupled with the disorganized & spiral lines have further indicated the troubled life for the owner.

See? There is always a different interpretation, often more than 2, on an object or situation. People around you might be pessimistic but nothing is more important than your own perception & belief, guided by your knowledge. And before you can have optimistic thinkings, you got to ensure your self-confidence is firmly established.
