The Stonehenge in Wiltshire
Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire, about 8 miles (13 km)
north of Salisbury. One of the most famous prehistoric sites in the world, Stonehenge is composed of
earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones. Archaeologists believe the
standing stones were erected around 2200 BC and the surrounding circular earth bank and ditch, which
constitute the earliest phase of the monument, have been dated to about 3100 BC. The site and its
surroundings were added to the UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites in 1986.

The monument is referred to as The Georgia Guidestones, or the American Stonehenge. Its origins are shrouded in mystery because no one knows who commissioned its construction.

Malaysia’s Stonehenge (somewhere 10 years ago)
Malaysia's Stonehenge!
The unofficial Stonehenge can be seen easily in Merbok Garden in Melaka. It was built up with random coordination with not purported direction or relation with any Scientific & Nature phenomenon. It consists of many huge pilings, surrounded by the unkempt bushes & weeds. Talkkok strongly believed its existence was simply due to some abadoned housing development more than 10 years ago.
Entry fee: Free of Charge
How to get there: Stop at Melaka Mall, then walk straight in to Merbok Garden for about 700 m and you shall see the Stonehenge on your right hand side.
The Malaysia city planning dept, housing development agency and the tourism ministry should be commended for this just another great piece of relic found in this World Heritage City! bravo.
