Would you express your feelings in such way, moreover in a funeral?

Dear all,

It’s too much for us to expect “perfection” in others when we are far from perfect. Instead, we should learn how to appreciate what the Chinese call “the beauty of imperfection”

This commercial is a perfect example. Very touching and an appropriate reminder to all of us.

“Funeral” is a new TV commerical launched by the Singapore Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) which looks at relationships in a different light, through a woman at her husband’s funeral. Ultimately, the TVC celebrates the beautiful imperfections that make a relationship perfect. This is fresh off MCYS latest Viewers’ Choice 2008 win for last year’s Family TVC which promotes the importance and value of family bonding.

This commercial is produced by the talented female director from Malaysia, Yasmin Ahmad. See the behind scene!

The Indian lady (wife) is Jo Kukathas, an established? Malaysian stage actor. Jo is a Director and Co-Founder of The Instant Cafe Theatre Company, Malaysia.

Btw, this commercial is getting its idea from a hollywood work-Good Will Hunting, see the original dialogue in the movie:

One commentor said: “Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery” :)

In his opinion, there’s nothing wrong with plagiarism, if the end result is to spread the good stuff. Who knows if the Good Will Hunting screenwriter didn’t copy the idea from someone else?

I have to agree with this commentator in this aspect.  It’s like TED… “ideas worth spreading”.
