Yesterday while passing by the Shell station opposite Jusco Melaka, a giant placard with 2 tempting words attracted my sight!.

Free Petrol!

Without much hesitation, I turned in to the station thinking that I was striking oil @ that moment. Once in, I saw another giant banner hung proudly on the station,this was it:

So, there was a catch for the Free Petrol. I got to guess how much is needed to fill up my tank and if the amount is right, i’d get the petrol for free! They allowed a displacement of additional 99 cts, meaning to say if my guess is RM50 and it turned out to be RM50.99, I’d still got it free. But the petrol they want us to fill is the V Power Racing fuel – the higher grade petrol,so it is additional 35 cts more compared to the normal grade fuel.

The challenge was well taken up by many motorists:

I saw quite a no. of motorists took up the challenge and some won too, thus I decided to challenge Shell for a tank of V Power Fuel!!!

So how much do you think for v Power to fill up a half filled 2.0 cc car?

I guessed I need RM60 and after registering with the event lady, the attendant started to lift up the pump:

Just before he put in the pump, I changed my mind on my guess, I changed to RM62 instead.

The actual amount was RM63.92, just RM 1 more to my guess…..because I was entitled to 99 cts deviation. What a close guess! #$%^&*()&^%$#@

Nevertheless, I found this contest is really fun…guess most of us will want to try it again…simply because our car need fuel anyway…So, look out for the Shell stations when you pass by,this contest is still in the run across the country at selected SHELL stations.
