These films talk about a lot of things — food, race, politics, religion, bank loans. Every little thing that Malaysians come across in their daily lives is touched upon here. No stone is left unturned. They also feature some of the best-known faces in the country, including actors, musicians and top political leaders. 4 politicians cast are YAB Nik Aziz, Tian Chua, Khairy Jamaluddin & Liow Tiong Lai.
The release of these 15 free 3-5 minutes short films run from August the 17th right to September 16th, which is Malaysia Day.
First film is as follows:
Well, what do you understand from this film? Some will say the msg behind is - we need to understand well on other peoples or we will ended up with unnecessary troubles, like the circumcision mistake .…
For me,the meaning is deeper. It is trying to tell us that the government is treating every Malaysian the same even in banking facility. But, It is also hinting to me that the non-muslims in this country are very much confused with the superior positions of our fellow countrymen-the Malay, like in this film, the privileged Islamic banking which is mistakenly thought to be exclusively accessible to the Malays only.
I agreed so…..too many goodies are there for our frens which not many of us know in details or we just give up in knowing???
2nd film:
What about this?? Some viewers don’t have a glue what is the msg from this film, directed by the recently passed away famed director-Yasmin Ahmad.
And one commented as follows:
FROM what i had been understand for last part of the story is,
The Chinese boy like the Malay girl..
But… Somehow his mother REMIND him that….
There is a GAP/DISTANCE between this two race..
They shouldn’t talk or mix so close…..
I tend to agree with this view….but I’d more touched by the music and the costumes chosen by Yasmin. You see the boy was half naked and had an unkempt hair, this is to show that his life is never easy in this country, worse still is forced to leave his beloved mother/country to further his study in foreign land due to the fact that his race is deprived of the educational and career opportunities in his own homeland. While the Malay girl is dressed neatly in pure white tudung,in my opinion the msg is some Malays are actually kind and humble folks, not all of them are racists,in fact Chinese is the one??
3rd film:
One commentator understands this film with this msg:
……Pls don’t think of enemies of Islam as other races who have different beliefs, but rather, decayed moral values that has threatened the continuous peace and harmony amongst all human beings, like drug abuse, criminal acts… and so on. In fact, Islam teaching encourages its followers to make friends and unite with all those who are sincere.
Well, I have no additional comment for this film.
So, that’s all for now, I will share with you on the subsequent films at later stage when i got the inspiration from GOD! Have a nice day!.
