I believe every Malaysian has eaten Nasi Lemak before and many like this Malay dish very much,so am I.
One famous nasi lemak seller is the Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa @ Kampung Baru. Started in 1973 by a housewife and today, its franchise concept has been proven successful with branches available at Bangsar, TTDI and Kota Damansara as well.
Now, it has even started its first outlet in Melaka @ Dataran Pahlawan Shopping Mall:
The new outlet in Melaka
Actually this outlet looks posh and plush. And its interior is quite nice and spacious too:
The cashier side
Let’s see how the food looks like:
The accompaniment dishes-boiled egg,cucumber,anchovies & peanuts
the other main dished like curry chicken, rendang...etc
I like the way they pick up the food, clean and hygienic!
This was my orders for the day
another side dish for me-the dried squid cooked in sambal chilli
I don’t like the squid as it is slightly drier and thinner compared to the ones I am getting from Satay Celup.
This was the famous Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa from Kampung Baru. After all, I don’t think it is nice. The sambal was too sweet though spicy enough and the rendang chicken was nothing special.
and I ordered coffee for my drink
Ended up i have 2 similar drinks. why?
The iced coffee tasted worse than the food. It was diluted. I complained and asked for replacement. The manager politely obliged and asked the guy redo one for me. I noticed they were discussing then how much should they apply the coffee powder to make it thicker! OMG……
At the end, the 2nd one slightly better but far worse than Uncle John Kopitiam.
The total cost of my lunch-RM17.00
With this expensive price, I guess I must be paying partly for the name:

The expensive Nasi Lemak (International somemore)
But the food is really not living to the famous branding efforts.
Rating: 3/10
By the way, as lotsa politicians are chanting 1Malaysian nowadays, I think Nasi Lemak can be considered 1Malaysian food! Hopefully this Malay dish did not originate from Indonesia, otherwise we will surely be complained of plagiarism.

nasi lemak!
i like the one at old town kopitiam! =D
well I think Malaysia is trying very hard to call it a Malaysian food. After all, it’s what Malaysia is famous for!
I’ve never tried Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa before. The last time I saw it it was damn quiet even during peak lunchtime hours. So after seeing your post, I guess I’ll definitely just leave it alone. :X
I really like your blog and i respect your work. I’ll be a frequent visitor.
Wow…..Not bad ah…”International Fat Rice” LOL

Sorry… forgot to say great post – can’t wait to read your next one!
I added your blog to bookmarks. And i’ll read your articles more often!
Hi, first time dropping by here. Have never been to Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa before although tempted to go in every time I passed by.
So it’s not that good? Hmmm, thanks for the review! I guess I will still give it a try at least once. But I already expect it not to be good based on your review, so I won;t be too disappointed! Haha.
Thank you! You often write very interesting articles. You improved my mood.
Dear writer and readers,
Thank you for your opinion on our outlet. We respect your personal internet public comments about our outlet and we recognize the fact that many of our earlier customers in all our Kuala Lumpur outlets did make similar earlier comments at the start of the all our operations early this year. However, in KL, things have changed a lot since then and all our outlets in KL are now becomming regular spots for dining, meeting, socialising and business chatting. Thank you for the feedbacks.
You are welcome to visit our blogspot at nasilemakantarabangsa-melaka.blogspot.com
to get to know us and to appreciate how much efforts have been personally placed to make this Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa Kampung Baru Melaka outlet a successful Malaysian outlet, especially the first one outside Kuala Lumpur.
We take serious note to your genuine comments and will get appropriate steps to deal with your feedbacks. However, the taste for the sambal is unique to our nasi lemak and that is exactly what the original Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa Kampung Baru outlet is serving. This is definitely guaranteed by Shaha Corporation, the owner of the NLA Kampung Baru.
To our customers, we want to thank you for your supports of our establishment in Melaka. Our management and crew would appreciate your genuine feedbacks and we would like to highlught that we serve not a simple nasi lemak many people have perception of, that is a thick coconut milk with heavy rice serving, but once tasted, one would notice that the rice is prepared in such a special way that it does not create the thick and heavy serving of nasi lemak used to be prepared for only breakfast, but the nasi lemak is speacial for all day serving! Also, try our satay ayam and daging at the outlet with other changes we make it special for our Melaka outlet!
Again, thank you for your feedbacks and we hope those who think the price is high, please compare what price you will pay in comparison with a cup of coffee of around RM6 or RM7 at the so called famous branded outlets. Unfortunately, many Malaysians do not feel the coffee price is rediculous, but for our Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa Kampung Baru, the price for what is served in Melaka is the same as what we ask for in KL outlets although, we operate through our logistics supports from KL. One would also notice that the price is a minor incremental vs the price offerred at the original famous stall in Kampung Baru to complement the new cafe and restaurant feature we offer now.
Best regard,
NLA-Melaka
