There were many attempts to warn us that our world is fragile and can be easily destroyed.
Some years ago, there was this cute monster called Godzilla:

Then we had this Alien attack:
Not once, but twice:

Still we survived the destructive attacks. Then we had this sub-zero winter catastrophe last few years:

Now, a calendar is gonna destroy the planet we called Earth! The End of Mayan Calendar at Dec 21st, 2012. To get myself prepared for this impending calamity, I hurriedly went to watch 2012 at GSC Dataran Pahlawan last Saturday.

Well, according to this movie, there will be enduring blow-ups and bloodbaths, crumbling skyscrapers, and a set of fairly compelling characters that fight all the horrible things neither they nor the audience can even imagine.

Buildings and cars tumbling down like Lego

The earth is falling apart

Los Angeles was being engulfed by ferocious fire
At bottom, the disaster flick is all about the saga of the unsuccessful and scruffy novelist Jack Curtis who first doesn’t bother a bit about his comely ex-wife Kate and their two kids, but later gets closer to them thanks to the outbreak of quakes, volcanoes and tsunamis. John Cusack and Amanda Peet play the hubby and wife.

That said, the eye-bulging visual effects that can shake your sense to the bottom will fetch them more praise. The enormous cracks soon develop along the San Andreas Fault in California, and disruptive earthquakes occur in the San Francisco Bay area.

The whole Los Angeles then collapsed into the Pacific Ocean.

Then Tsunami will also hit Himalayas too:

Luckily, there were preparations done to save the humankind from extinction. The G8 governments decided to build gargantuan ships to save the Heads of states and those super rich elites as long anybody can pay for the ship ticket priced at Euro 1 billion,no discount of course!
At the critical moment, the selfish American chief persuaded to shut the door earlier than planned due to latest indication that the tsunami might strike earlier than forecasted:

The Chief of Staff---aka the selfish "basterd" in this movie

The PhD Hero who tells the world when the Tsunami will arrive...

The 1st class people running to board the Mega Ship

Once the door is open, everybody is running onto it
Fortunately, all are in time to board the ship except Yuri, the fat guy……Altogether there are 3 Mega ships with each carrying about 50k people (i think)….So all together there are 150k survivors plus the animals (1 pair each).
By the way,the ships are to built up in China, near Tibet area.
So, lessons learnt from this movie:
1. The damages coming in year 2012 are unimaginable, cities & mountains will go down, people will be blown up.
2. Pls stay near to TIbet,China as the ships will be built up there (only China can do this).
3. Work for the company that build this ship, otherwise u and me,the commoner will not be able to buy the ship ticket.
By the way, when i was exiting from the cineplex, a kinda Deja Vu feeling seems prevalent because i see this situation:
See this crowd moving out!!!
This situation seemed like the people were rushing to the ship’s door in the movie!!!
Anyway, this movie is entertaining but not up to my expectations!!!
