Family Outing to A’ Famosa Resort—Part I

Melaka is blessed with many tourist attractions, one of them is the A’ Famosa Resort, located in Alor Gajah. I went there with my family last couple of weeks, supposed to post this earlier but was bogged down by few PCNs projects which need to be issued out before Xmas break.

Finally, I found a time now to share with Talkkok’s supporters.

The A’Famosa Resort is rated by many as the region’s foremost leisure and holiday resort. Situated on a 1300-acre site in Alor Gajah, surrounded by rolling hills and a lush countryside, A’Famosa is a dream getaway which will entice your senses, calm your nerves and leave you totally refreshed and rejuvenated.

It’s strategically located off the North-South Highway- just half an hour’s drive from historic Malacca city, 45 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and about an hour from Kuala Lumpur. The resort is also extremely popular with Singaporeans as it only takes two hours by road to go there from the Lion City.

A’Famosa offers an international championship 27-hole golf course, the highly-acclaimed Animal World Safari,Water World Theme Park, Equestrian Club, Resort Hotel, Villas , Condotel, excellent conference/banquet facilities and much more. It’s one of the few resorts in this region that can truthfully claim to have ‘something for everyone’ regardless of age, whether you’re an avid golfer, animal lover, watersports enthusiast, or just someone who enjoys a blissful, worry-free escape from the hustle and bustle of modern city living.

These were the introductory and enticing words from the resort’s website…..

We started our journey from the Animal World Safari:

Immediately we queued up for the Safari ride. The A’Famosa Animal World Safari is an amazing wildlife Safari that houses over 150 of the finest species from the animal kingdom. Watch in amazement as you encounter the majestic Tigers, Lions, Giraffes, Camels, Zebras, Elephants and other creatures roaming freely in the Safari. You can also explore the magic of wildlife habitats and environment in the bumpy safari trucks.

If you know which animal’s egg this is, do reply me….Now you should know there are many more types of chicken that you haven’t seen before…Don’t only know how to eat chicken, try to know their extensive family species too.

By the way, the owner of A’ Famosa is Leong Hup, a company involved in big scaled chicken farming & poultry businesses  thus they are able to showcase these great varieties of their main product portfolio.

After the chicken farm, we adjourned to the The Walk-Through Area, which is beautifully landscaped and makes for a pleasant walk pass spacious enclosures which house more than 20 types of animals including Greater Flamingos, Black Swans, North American Raccoons, miniature ponies and the indigenous Malayan Tapir.
