The Chinese called it the “money tree” because of its leaves that are circular in shape and this is closely associated with the round coin that China had in the olden days. Therefore, it is no surprise that the plant is called, “Jin Qian Shu”,money tree in Mandarin.
There is also a local myth that if the plant bears flowers whilst in your home, you will be on a lucky streak and may even strike 4D/Toto.

I bet most of you have seen this cute little plant, it’s beautiful and is grown as an ornamental plant, mainly for its attractive glossy foliage. I had it once too.
BUT, it’s poisonous if ingested. Yes, all parts of it are poisonous!!!!
