RSI in this case stands for Repetitive Strain Injury. It includes a whole spectrum of conditions, from tendonitis of the hand or wrist  becoming hurt or go numb or tingle, that may be RSI. If these symptoms are associated with repetitive tasks, such as typing at a computer, it is almost certainly RSI. Such symptoms do sometimes go away within a few minutes, hours, days, or weeks. Other symptoms include losing strength or coordination in your hands, or perhaps dropping things.

Not everyone experiences all symptoms, and sometimes your symptoms may not occur until several hours or even days after the activity which causes them. (Have you ever hiked a long way and not been really sore until the next day or even two days later?)

So, get the message from her? She claimed that Introverts are more concerned with the inner world of the mind. They enjoy thinking, exploring their thoughts and feelings by being alone! When introverts want to be alone, it is not, by itself, a sign of depression. It means that they either need to regain their energy from being around people or that they simply want the time to be with their own thoughts. Great people like Chopin, Gandhi and even Steve Wozniak (Apple co-founder) were some of the famous introverts living among us.

One of Susan’s take home messages was “Stop the madness of constant groupwork, just stop it”!  I cannot agree more with her as sometimes I did feel the pain in the axx to sit down with total strangers to brainstorm ideas in many of the workshops!

Last but not least, be aware that Introverts make up about 60% of the gifted population but only about 25-40% of the general population.

So, don’t feel offensed if your friend or colleague turns down your lunch or dinner invitation next time!

But then this lady’s fear of snakes is till the level she can’t even see snakes in pictures!!! If there is snake picture on the newspapers, she won’t read the paper or at least not to the page having the snakes picture. There was one frighthening moment when she got 2 stamps with snakes pictures. Guess what she did? She didn’t even dare to paste the stamps by herself and eventually get an uncle (a stranger) to help her to paste the stamp on! This abnormal fear of snakes is called Ophidiophobia!

Its price is quite ok considering the advanced night vision feature it has. But then, The Malaysia’s Marine Parks Department (JTLM) bought this gadget at a whopping price of  RM56,350 which is 2,805% more than market price!!! Yes, you read it right, they spent $56 thousand just for this!  A binoculars has turned into ridiculous!

The more ridiculous facts are that the fradulent purchase was not just limited to this binoculars, but to many more government agencies purchases, as reported in the 2011 Annual Auditor General report. 

*** RM16,100 for a LCD television and DVD player which was 638% more than the market rate of RM2,182. 

*** RM11,845 or 246% more for a laptop and a colour printer although their market price was RM3,428. 

*** A colour marine radar for RM47,725 or 478% more compared to market price RM8,255 and

*** A hand-held portable VHF transceiver for RM4,324 or 177% more compared to market price RM1,561.

This kind of hanky panky procurement act is not the first time reported by the Auditor General! What has the government done to eradicate this daylight robbery of the people money!!!

Toddler hit-and-run sparks outrage in China

BEIJING (AP) — A video showing a toddler being struck twice by vans and then ignored by passers-by is sparking outrage in China and prompting soul-searching over why people didn’t help the child.

The 2-year-old girl, identified as Wang Yue, is in a coma in critical condition in the Guangzhou Military District General Hospital following Thursday’s accident, state media reported Tuesday. The Guangzhou Daily quoted the hospital’s head of neurosurgery as saying the girl is likely to remain in a vegetative state if she survives.

A closed-circuit television video obtained by state media shows the toddler wandering along a narrow market street in the city of Foshan when she is struck by a van. As several people walk or cycle by, the child lies in a pool of blood and is then hit by another van. All told local media count 18 people passing by before a trash collector finally picks up the child and gives her to a woman identified as her mother.

The case is the latest heavily publicized example of Chinese in distress being ignored by fellow citizens in a phenomenon seen as illustrating the corrosive effect China’s headlong pursuit of economic growth has had on public ethics.

“This brings a blow to our morality,” news reader Yan Yanzi from Southern Television Guangdong said in a report that has been uploaded to video-sharing sites. “Where was your conscience? It is really disappointing news to watch, really disappointing,” she said at the end of the report.

The TV report has been viewed more than 2 million times on the Internet television site of Youku.com Inc. China’s version of Twitter, Sina Corp.’s Sina Weibo, has drawn 4.4 million comments and organized them under the hash tag “Please end the cold-heartedness.”

Police arrested the driver of the second van the night of the accident and the driver of the first van, whose license plate was obscured in the surveillance video, on Sunday. Some online comments have demanded harsh punishment for the drivers.

“The drivers should be shot. No to any cooling down,” Zeng Ziming said in a posting on his Sina Weibo feed.

The bitterest outrage, however, has been directed at those who ignored the injured child and at society’s indifference. “Society is progressing, but human nature is regressing. These 18 passers-by are afraid of getting themselves into trouble,” said a Weibo posting under the name She De.

While decrying the decay in social morality, many commentators have also pointed to China’s lack of legal protections, such as a “Good Samaritan” law that would protect people from lawsuits if they try to help others in distress.

In another case that touched off public debate, an 81-year-old woman who had fallen to the ground unconscious accused a bus driver who tried to help her of knocking her over and causing her injury in the first place. Last week, state media reported that an American woman saved a Chinese woman from drowning in West Lake, a famous scenic spot in the eastern city of Hangzhou; commentators noted that only a foreigner would dare such a rescue.

“Although saving people constantly brings ‘trouble,’ nonetheless, ignoring the dying or even helping with evil acts by negligence is ripping apart society’s ethical baseline and dissolving any sense of conscience deep in the souls of the public,” commentator Li Hongbing wrote in Tuesday’s People’s Daily, the flagship newspaper of the ruling Communist Party.
